How to Tackle a Big Assignment or Project
Do you have a big assignment due this semester? Maybe a big research project, or a group presentation, perhaps you need to create a piece of art or give a performance. You know, the kind of assignment that takes at least a few weeks to complete and is worth 20% of your grade.
The big project is often a missed opportunity for many students. They get focused on just getting it done, on the grade, or on the amount of time and effort it’s going to take.
Today, I invite you to think of these big assignments as an opportunity to really hone your skills and create something that is so high quality you can include it on your resumé. Something you are so proud of, you can present it at a conference or share it with a potential employer during an interview.
In the episode, I walk you step-by-step through one of my favorite strategies for managing your projects. We’ll talk about:
Why you should bust the project up into smaller parts.
Why you should give yourself mini due dates
The important step everyone skips during a project
How to work more efficiently
How to ensure higher quality work
Now I want to hear from you. Do you have a big project you’re working on? Have you used any of these strategies to help you tackle it? Tell me about it. DM me your experience @collegehoodadvicepodcast
