Have you ever felt like you suck; like you’re not good enough, smart enough, talented enough?

The feeling that you are not enough often emerges from what researcher, author, and professor Dr. Carol Dweck calls a “fixed mindset” or the tendency to believe that our ability and intelligence are innate and unchanging.

This fixed mindset can severely limit our ability to improve, grow, and develop our skills and problem solving. It can cause us to stagnant and settle for face value.

Her research has uncovered that those of us who are best equipped to overcome challenges deeply believe in our ability to improve, learn, and develop. This “growth mindset” allows us to believe that with practice and determination we will eventually figure things out.

In this episode, I’m sharing Dr. Dweck’s very simple technique for shifting from a “fixed” to a “growth” mindset, and it’s as simple as adding one little word to your day-to-day language.

Now I want to hear from you:

How have you incorporated the power of “yet” into your life? How has it effected your mindset? What problems has it helped you solve? Then tell me in the comments below, or DM me over on Instagram @collegehoodadvice or tag me @collegehoodadvice.
