In this episode, personal finance expert and author Darryl Lyons joins Katy to share a few simple mindset and behavior shifts that can transform your approach to money management as well as your overall financial well-being.

Having “enough” money is a chief motivator during the college experience. Many of us attend college so we can make good money once we graduate. Some of us decide not to attend college because of its high cost. And others of us are constantly worried about money because we feel we simply don’t have enough to live the life we want to live.

Worrying about money can be distracting. Plus, feeling like we lack money can limit our ability to be who we really want to be. It can cause us to choose majors we don’t like, do things we really don’t want to do, and feel stuck.

Today Darryl Lyons Shares the Following Ideas to Help You Shift Your Money Mindset:

  • Why you should pay very close attention to marketing.

  • How to focus on what you need instead of what others have.

  • Why you should give to nonprofits and charities even when you’re a broke student.

  • Strategies for paying down student debt after graduation.

  • Why the college degree has a great Return on Investment.

This episode is for aspiring college students, current college students, recent grads, and parents looking to approach managing their money in a more intentional and purposeful way.

Today’s homework:

Identify a good cause to donate to. How much money can you spare a month? Even 1 dollar a month to a good cause can make a huge difference.
