Collegehood Advice is here to support the hard work you do to help students succeed on your campus. I understand what its like to be out in the trenches helping students. My assignments, listening clubs, tools and resources are specifically designed with your work in mind.
This course assignment is great for First Year Experience (FYE) seminar courses or any required first year academic course, like first year writing. This assignment asks students to listen to an episode of the podcast and reflect on how they can apply it to their personal college experience. The student learning objective for this assignment is for students to describe examples of healthy personal and academic development strategies, tactics, and insights and develop a plan to improve or optimize their college experience.
Think book club, but for podcasts. Listening clubs are an opportunity for groups of students to consider, discuss, and take action on creating a better college experience together. There is a lot of power in groups. Listening clubs harness the support and creativity of community to help students follow through on their goals.
Want to be a guest on the show? Interested in having me on your show? Want to partner with Collegehood Advice in some way? Awesome! I thrive on collaboration. Drop me a line about what you’re thinking. I love working with others supporting college students and young adults.
I have extensive experience giving talks, workshops, trainings, and classroom lectures for students, parents, and higher education professionals. I love to talk about the transition to college, creating an intentional college experience, academic success strategies, major/career selection, and the post grad transition.
